Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Simple Reader is developed and published by ASDES Group Pty Ltd, an Australian company. In this policy, "we", "us", and "our" refer to ASDES Group Pty Ltd.

2. Data we collect

We do not collect any personal data.

Simple Reader does not include any analytics frameworks, tracking pixels, crash reporting SDKs, or advertising libraries. We have no servers that receive data from the app. We do not know who you are, what you read, or how you use the app.

3. Data stored on your device

The following data is created and stored locally on your device when you use Simple Reader:

• Saved articles: The URL, title, author, publication name, article content, and any hero image of articles you save.
• AI summaries: Summary bullet points generated on-device by Apple Intelligence. These are processed entirely on your device and are never sent to any server, including ours.
• Tags: Tag names and colour preferences you create to organise your articles.
• Reading preferences: Your chosen reading theme, font family, font size, line spacing, and margin settings.
• Reading progress: Your scroll position in each article so you can resume where you left off.

All of this data is stored in your app's private container on your device. It is not accessible to other apps or to us.

4. iCloud sync

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, Simple Reader uses CloudKit (Apple's private cloud database) to sync your articles, tags, and reading progress across your iPhone and iPad.

This data is stored in your private iCloud container, which means:

• Only you can access it, through devices signed in to your Apple Account.
• We cannot read, access, or query your iCloud data.
• Apple's iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
• You can disable iCloud sync at any time through your device's Settings.

5. AI summarisation

Simple Reader offers AI-generated article summaries powered by Apple Intelligence. This processing occurs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device machine learning models. Article content is never sent to our servers, to Apple's servers, or to any third party for the purpose of generating summaries.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Simple Reader offers optional paid subscriptions (Pro) managed entirely through Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We do not process payments, store credit card details, or have access to your Apple Account billing information. All subscription management, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple. 7. Third-party services

Simple Reader does not integrate any third-party SDKs, libraries, or services that collect user data. Specifically, the app does not use:

• Analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Firebase)
• Crash reporting tools (e.g. Crashlytics, Sentry)
• Advertising networks
• Social media SDKs
• Any external AI or machine learning APIs

8. Children's privacy

Simple Reader does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the app collects no personal data whatsoever, there is no risk of children's data being collected or processed.

9. Data retention and deletion

Since all data is stored on your device and in your private iCloud account, you have full control over it:

• Delete individual articles by swiping to delete in the app.
• Delete all data using the "Delete All Articles" option in Settings.
• Remove the app from your device to delete all locally stored data.
• Remove iCloud data through Settings > Apple Account > iCloud > Manage Storage.

We do not retain any data because we never receive any data.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Since we do not collect contact information, we cannot notify you directly of changes. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
